Bell Helicopter on Campus

Bell Helicopter offers a Summer Internship Program each year. We participate in activities on college campuses across the globe to meet and recruit top talent for our unique internship program. The number of positions and departments where the positions are located are based on business need and vary from year to year, making each intern class special and critical to our business.

Our internship program and other educational outreach efforts reflect long range strategic planning— filling our pipeline with fresh talent and knowledge of the company that will help propel the rotorcraft industry forward. At Bell Helicopter our interns are taking part in exciting activities across the business including product design on our three developmental aircraft, helicopter rides, touring and piloting simulators, question and answer sessions with CEO John Garrison, lunch events with members of the Executive Leadership Team, participation in special events including air shows, and even international travel for a lucky few.

STEM Education

High School Program

The Aviation Engineering program at Paul Laurence Dunbar prepares students for work in well-paying, exciting careers. Hands-on projects teach students engineering design processes, problem solving, and 3D drawing software. Students also master the proper use of tools. Program highlights include sessions with Bell Helicopter’s robotics teams, statewide competitions, industry field trips, and interactive summer college camps. Students graduate prepared for a diverse range of engineering opportunities and college entrance.

College and University Program

A team of local high school students sponsored by Tarrant County College works each year to complete the construction of a robot for the regional Project FIRST robotics competition. The group, assisted by Bell Helicopter engineers and Tarrant County College student mentors participates in the annual competition, which is designed to inspire future science and technology leaders. The team was first developed in 2011 by TCC Southeast Campus, and participation in the project is funded by a grant from Bell Helicopter.
