Bell Helicopter offers a Summer Internship Program each year. We participate in activities on college campuses across the globe to meet and recruit top talent for our unique internship program. The number of positions and departments where the positions are located are based on business need and vary from year to year, making each intern class special and critical to our business.
Our internship program and other educational outreach efforts reflect long range strategic planning— filling our pipeline with fresh talent and knowledge of the company that will help propel the rotorcraft industry forward. At Bell Helicopter our interns are taking part in exciting activities across the business including product design on our three developmental aircraft, helicopter rides, touring and piloting simulators, question and answer sessions with CEO John Garrison, lunch events with members of the Executive Leadership Team, participation in special events including air shows, and even international travel for a lucky few.
Bell Helicopter is seeking students for the 2015 Summer Internship program in several facilities across the United States and many others all over the globe. The 2015 class will have the opportunity to interact with leaders at all levels and participate in social and networking events to get to know our workforce: some of the most intelligent, inventive and dedicated people in the aerospace industry. This past summer Bell Helicopter welcomed almost 200 students from more than 60 colleges and universities as the 2014 intern class. We are extremely proud of our internship program and the students we’ve selected to help develop our future. We’ve seen tremendous growth since the program began in 2009 and look forward to helping even more young professional across the country and internationally gain experience in various departments, functions and organizations during their stay.
The Aviation Engineering program at Paul Laurence Dunbar prepares students for work in well-paying, exciting careers. Hands-on projects teach students engineering design processes, problem solving, and 3D drawing software. Students also master the proper use of tools. Program highlights include sessions with Bell Helicopter’s robotics teams, statewide competitions, industry field trips, and interactive summer college camps. Students graduate prepared for a diverse range of engineering opportunities and college entrance.
A team of local high school students sponsored by Tarrant County College works each year to complete the construction of a robot for the regional Project FIRST robotics competition. The group, assisted by Bell Helicopter engineers and Tarrant County College student mentors participates in the annual competition, which is designed to inspire future science and technology leaders. The team was first developed in 2011 by TCC Southeast Campus, and participation in the project is funded by a grant from Bell Helicopter.
