Inadvertent Instrument Meteorological Condition (IIMC) Training

No matter the circumstance – performing an emergency medical service ight, transporting a group of executives to an event, or carrying out a utility mission – inadvertent IMC (IIMC) encounters can be some of the most challenging conditions a pilot can experience. By understanding avoidance and recovery techniques, pilots can better understand the variables when navigating through these conditions.

At the Bell Helicopter Training Academy, we offer simulator-based training to help give pilots essential skills for enabling a safe recovery from IIMC. While using the Bell 407GX Full Flight Simulator, pilots learn techniques that can be useful to any helicopter make/model; avoidance techniques are also part of the curriculum.

“I wouldn’t want to get behind the controls without having an understanding of avoidance and recovery techniques taught in this course.” – Bell Training Academy Pilot and Course Developer
